Wednesday, September 25, 2024 – Kiambu Woman Representative Anne Wamuratha has claimed that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua only identifies himself with the Kikuyu community.

Speaking on Radio Maisha today Wednesday September 25, Wamuratha said it is a wrong gesture for someone who is elected in the presidency to only be talking about his home and community. This, she argued, sends a wrong signal to the rest of the country.

Anne Wamuratha addressing

“William Ruto never speaks Kalenjin language because he’s a simple of national unity. Truth be told, Kibaki and Moi never identified themselves with where they came from,” she noted.

The Woman Rep stated that Mr. Gachagua is the greatest undoing for himself and this has since made many leaders unhappy with his style of leadership.

She also said, most of the time, the DP has been choosing to attack MPs from their backyard anytime he feels they are not aligning with his political wishes.

“I know there are so many people who are not happy with him(DP) because he attacks people upto the ground anytime they are not aligned with his ideologically,” she added.

In her account, she disclosed that the DP also took issue with MPs who were visiting Kiharu Constituency for benchmarking. He felt threatened by area MP Ndindi Nyoro’s early rise to popularity and national politics.

“When many young leaders started touring Kiharu for benchmarking, our deputy felt threatened by that move and decided to start fighting them,” she also stated.

“We are now at a very tricky corner now that even Baba is in the government. This has made DP Gachagau, on the other hand, to now firmly remain in his home and whip up emotions for sympathy reasons,” she further said this on Radio Maisha saying it not okay for a leader of his office to only talk about his community.

The Woman Rep noted further that any national leader in the executive wing of leadership should not be talking in his native language. She listed the late Mwai Kibaki, Daniel Moi, Uhuru Kenyatta and Ruto as leaders who did not address national matters in their native language.
