Monday, September 9, 2024 –A group of Mt. Kenya leaders have come out guns blazing accusing Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of instigating divisions in government.
Speaking in a local forum held today in their region, Laikipia Member of Parliament MP Mwangi Kiunjuri told Gachagua that that he is using the church to divide the government; what will not be acceptable.
He added that, as leaders fetched from the Central part of Kenya, they will keep telling him(DP) the truth so that he can accept that the country in uniting against forces of tribalism.
“You are fighting people in church but we will continue telling you the truth because Kenya is coming together and every community is now joining the government. Get used to it,” Kiunjuri said.
Similarly, Majority Leader in the National Assembly, Kimani Ichung’wah, wondered why the DP has been moving around bragging that he is the only one listening to the ground.
He also took issue with the second in command for warning leaders close to President William Ruto that they will not go passed December this year.
“Before threatening others that by December, everyone against you will mean nothing, who elect leaders. Is it one person or the electorate?
“When you people choose to elect someone; you do not instruct him or her to follow a certain individual,” Ichung’wah noted further.
Other leaders and elders present in the Agikuyu gathering echoed the same sentiments saying they will not join the DP in waging war against other communities.
