Monday, April 19, 2021 -Mt. Kenya leaders allied to Deputy President William Ruto have made clear their bare minimum for them to continue supporting his ambitions.
This revelations came from their weekend meeting held at Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua’s Nairobi residence which attracted over 47 lawmakers from 11 counties.
Firstly, they unanimously agreed to ask for a running mate slot from Ruto whom they claim is not being clear on his plans for their region.
They demanded that the DP must start planning for their area on matters economic development especially touching on trade and farming.
They also want Ruto to give a healthy roadmap on how he thinks he will save the economy of their region which has been severely affected by Jubilee government in which he is part of.
Moreover, the politicians demanded a guarantee from the second in command to tell them what infrastructural plans he has for them.
“We want our region to be guaranteed minimum returns under the Ruto presidency. All agricultural sectors are on their knees and we want him to tell us what he will do to resuscitate them,” Gachagua stated.
In their demand list are also other cabinet slots in his(Ruto) administration; in the event he wins the seat in 2022. These includes the Deputy President position, Prime Minister’s post, Deputy Prime Minister and several key cabinet slots.
According to our sources, the Tangatanga-allied MPs led by Hon Gachagua decided to take the back seat until Ruto exhaustively responds to this.
