Sunday, November 14, 2021 –Former Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi has faulted Raila Odinga’s sh 6,000 monthly stipend for vulnerable families in the country.
Addressing today on Sunday November 14 at Ngong Road Friends Quakers International Center, Mudavadi said the promise was not genuine and sustainable going by the current economic status this country is facing.
The ANC Party boss argued that remitting a sum of sh 6,000 to every poor family was not a walk in the park as Raila seems to paint.
“As we approach the next General Election, we must give this country what is good, we must not be convinced by handouts, bribery or by sweet words from politicians who promise you things that are practically impossible,” stated Mudavadi.
Raila Odinga has been promising poor families the sh 6,000 every month in stipends which he claims can support the long suffering homes by at least putting a meal on their tables.
But Mudavadi reasoned that for the promise to be implemented well, a budget of sh 48 billion has to be set aside for that particular purpose every year.
In many of his rallies, the former prime minister has argued that the sh 6,000 support do not need any more taxing on the common citizen because he has been in government and understands well where the public money gets lost to in both corruption and pilferage.
