Thursday, December 9, 2021 –Amani National Congress ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi has turned down an invitation from Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja Kasarani convention.
Mudavadi has confirmed receiving an invitation from the Azimio la Umoja Secretariat which he revealed was addressed to him in his capacity as ANC Party leader and not One Kenya Alliance OKA principal.
In his argument, the ANC Party boss thinks the invitation was not honest and respectful and therefore he will not be attending the Friday December 9 event.
He has since wished Mr. Raila Odinga well as he prepares to faceoff with the rest of the contestants who will all meet at the ballot.
“I can confirm that I have just received an official invitation to Azimio la Umoja Convention. As noted herein, the invitation was addressed in my personal capacity as ANC Party Leader and not OKA Principal. Regrettably, I will not be able to attend because of personal engagements,” Mudavadi said.
This move therefore affirms earlier assertions from ANC Party-allied-politicians that they are not yet willing to support Odinga’s quest for the top seat.
But even as this was going on, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka had just updated on his social media platforms that he was out of the country and not sure if he may be available.
“I was welcomed by Amb. Barnaba Marial Benjamin, South Sudan’s Minister for Presidential Affairs to the State House, Juba, for talks with H.E. President Salva Kiirr on the peace process in South Sudan,” Musyoka tweeted.
The back and forth in political arena is happening even as Mt Kenya businessmen dubbed the Mt Kenya Foundation MKF declared full support for Mr. Odinga.
The group which also comprised clergymen from the Mountain urged residents from that part of the country to heed their advice to vote Raila to power.
