Tuesday, May 30, 2023 –Former President Uhuru Kenyatta was spotted sharing light moments with Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi in Nigeria.

The duo was captured on camera hugging each other during the official inauguration of President Bola Tinubu that took place on Tuesday May 30.

President Tinubu was sworn into office on Monday, as the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Uhuru and Mudavadi met in Abuja where they have been camping for the official inauguration of President Tinubu.

Speaking on this, Political Analyst Mutahi Ngunyi opined that the meetings between former President Uhuru Kenyatta and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi is not by a coincidence.

Prof Ngunyi said Uhuru and President William Ruto could be working on reconciliation and the two meetings of Uhuru and Mudavadi – one in Burundi and next in Abuja – are the latest indicators yet.

The analyst said the reconciliation will most likely be pushed by Uhuru’s peacemaking personality, adding that the two leaders still needed each other despite dissenting sections.

“Uhuru Kenyatta will make peace with William Ruto because he is a peacemaker. He met Mudavadi in Burundi. And met Mudavadi in Nigeria. This is not a coincidence. Ruto needs Uhuru. Uhuru needs Ruto.

“And this is good for the country. Madaraka Day,” Ngunyi added.

Ngunyi’s remarks come after Uhuru and the Prime CS met in Abuja on Tuesday May 30 in Nigeria with their photos going viral across major social media platforms.

“Honored to have represented H.E President William Ruto and the people of Kenya at the inauguration of Nigeria’s new President, H.E Bola Tinubu. Congratulations on your swearing-in and best wishes for a successful term. The government of Kenya is looking forward to strengthening ties between our two great nations,” Mudavadi commented.

For a very long time, Kenya Kwanza government proponents have linked the ongoing push and pull between government and the opposition to Uhuru Kenyatta’s meddling.

William Ruto’s side has, not once, claimed that the opposition was being funded by the Kenyatta family to distabilise the current administration.
