Friday, December 22, 2023 -Prime Cabinet Secretary CS Musalia Mudavadi has defended his role in William Ruto Kenya Kwanza government.
Speaking in an exclusive Citizen Tv interview hosted by Sam Gituku, the PCS noted that there was a clear role between him and the deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.
Mudavadi added that his main role was to help both the deputy president and the head of State in execution of their constitutional mandate.
“We are barely one year in office, the Executive Order is very specific that my role is to assist the President and the DP. I know what the role of a DP is, I know what the role of a President is and I know how to manage my role as the PCS,” said Mudavadi.
He dymistified the notion that their is an ongoing cold war and misunderstanding between him and the DP.
He said this story is a creation of the Kenyan media and urged members of the public to ignore the reports.
“The issue of there was conflict or there was competition is neither here nor there. I have heard of the speculation and I have ignored,” he further stated.
The foreign CS went on to clarify on how he takes instructions to assist the President and his deputy run their duties.
“Sometimes, the instructions can be verbal or written from the President. I have received instructions from the DP, he has asked me to handle certain meetings on his behalf or to get certain engagements carried out on his behalf,” he admitted.
Mr. Mudavadi, who is serving as the Kenyan Prime Cabinet Secretary CS, was also showing up on the media as CS for Foreign Ministry – a docket he took from Dr. Alfred Mutua.
