Wednesday, April 6, 2022 –Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula will get only 30 percent of the Kenya Kwanza coalition government should they win August 9 elections.
In a draft coalition agreement seen by Homenews.co.ke on Tuesday evening April 5, Ruto’s running mate will come from Mt Kenya. Further, Ruto will have to share his 70 percent of government with the remaining affiliate parties.
This desk has also learnt that their nomination exercise will be conducted in manner that will reduce friction among parties. They have reportedly agreed to run this through a consensus process where parties may field single candidate in their respective strongholds.
On sharing political parties funds, the same formula will be applied as shown in the agreement drafted by politician Kithure Kindiki(UDA), lawyers Dan Ameyo of ANC and Benson Bulimo of Ford Kenya Parties.
Currently, Ruto and all Kenya Kwanza Alliance affiliates are taking a week-long break from active campaigns to focus on the nitty-gritties of the document before it is made public.
The same style has been adopted by Azimio la Umoja team which has also moved with speed to find a lasting solution on how to handle smooth party primaries.
In a document seen by the media, UDA Party primaries are scheduled to take place on Thursday April 14 as ANC plans to hold theirs on Tuesday April 12.
