Mudavadi’s ANC Candidate Stretch lead in Matungu Polls

Friday, March 5, 2021 -Amani National Congress ANC Party has stretched their lead in Matungu parliamentary by-elections.

At around 6 AM, homenews learnt that Nabulindo was leading with 12,399 votes and could be announced the winner anytime as Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party candidate David Were followed closed with 8,896 votes.

This was at the time 99 out of 116 piling stations had delivered their results to the tallying Center.

Ruto’s candidate Alex Lanya was at third position with 4,290 votes followed by Bernard Wakoli with 1,304.

According to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC Returning officer John Kirui, final results will be declared early Friday.

The race attracted atleast 15 candidates and was marred by chaotic scenes all through where police and politicians involved each other in a cat and mouse game.

If ANC will win as its predicted, this will mean a lot for Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC Party which was fighting hard to make sure they retain their seat after the death of their member Justus Murunga.
