Tuesday, July 5, 2022 – Investigations into the death of two students at Mukumu Girls High School have intensified.
The two girls at Sacred Heart Mukumu Girls High School in Kakamega County died mysteriously with the administration not coming clear on the cause of their deaths.
The probe into the death is currently being looked into by Education officials led by the Kakamega County director of education, Dickson Ogonya, and will be submitting the final report for further steps.
“We have instructed the ministry of education on the ground to visit the school and investigate the reports relating to the deaths of students and prepare a report that will be submitted to the Ministry of Education for action,” said an official from the ministry.
The first student by the name Nicole reportedly passed on following negligence from the part of the school management.
Her distressed parents would only be informed on the falling health condition of their child nine days later.
As if this was not enough, another student, Cynthia, is said to have been operated on without a second opinion hence leading to her ultimately demise.
Cynthia will be laid to rest on July 12, 2022.
