Thursday, March 25, 2021 -Jubilee Party and their handshake partners Orange Democratic Movement ODM are engaged in a political rivalry ahead of the next by-elections.
Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe has in that regard issued an official statement on why they are rivaling their handshake partners ODM in both Juja and Bonchari elections. Murathe in his interview argued that Juja belonged to Jubilee Party same to Bonchari despite the fact that the latter had earlier been won by Raila’s ODM candidate John Oroo who has since died.
Speaking to the press at Jubilee Headquarters in Pangani on Wednesday March 15, Murathe divulged they have fronted Susan Njeri who is a widow to the former MP Francis Munyua Waititu.
“People are asking why we are fighting with the ODM in the upcoming Juja and Bonchari By-Elections and yet we are in the handshake. I want to make it clear that that seat belonged to Jubilee and not ODM,” David Murathe has said.
Jubilee emerged second in the last election where their candidate Zebedayo Opore lost to ODM’s John Oroo.
“We will have Zebedayo Opore fight for the parliamentary seat on a Jubilee ticket,” affirmed Mr. Murathe.
William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance party UDA which apparently sensed defeat pulled out of the Juja race.
