Thursday, September 9, 2021 -Kalonzo Musyoka-allied-politicians have warned him against supporting Raila Odinga’s presidency.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday September 8 in Nairobi led by Kitui County Senator Enock Wambua, they cautioned their Wiper Democratic Party leader against allowing himself to be again the former premier’s running mate saying such attempts will escalate rebellion within their camp.
They argued that it will be prudent if Kalonzo remained firm within Wiper so that he could challenge both Raila and Ruto in the upcoming general elections. They added that OKA stands a better chance of offering this country an alternative leadership if they stayed put.
“Today we must put to rest wild speculations that our party leader, Dr Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, would consider deputizing former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in the 2022 General Election.
“This speculation has no basis and it is not one of the options we are even thinking about,” Senator Wambua read their statement.
They want to have their own flag-bearer and they believe this will be their party leader Kalonzo Musyoka deputized by Musalia Mudavadi. They threatened to never forgive Musyoka should he succumb to Raila’s demands.
The team included Senator Wambua(Kitui), Kitui Woman Representative Irene Kasalu and Makueni Member of Parliament Dan Maanzo.
There was also Edith Nyenze from Kitui West, Makai Mulu (MP Kitui Central), and Danson Mwashako (MP Wundanyi).
But even as they jostle for their national limelight ahead of 2022, inside sources have claimed that the principals have repeatedly failed to agree among themselves who becomes who in their formation.
All of the four leaders, Kalonzo Musyoka, Muisalia Mudavadi, Gideon Moi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula want to become presidents at the same time.
Just the other day, ANC allied politicians led by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala also warned their party boss Musalia against falling prey of Raila’s gimmicks.
