Thursday, November 24, 2022 –President Yoweri Museveni’s son Muhoozi Kaineruigaba is already in top gear to take over the presidency from his father in 2026.
The army general who was recently promoted by father ahead of the succession campaigns has openly announced his plans to take and rule Uganda for other more years after the father is done.
He was recently on record advising Uhuru Kenyatta not to adhere to the Constitution and, instead, stick in office by force.
Museveni’s elder son regretted when Kenyatta handed over power to his deputy William Ruto in the just-concluded general elections.
He went ahead to claim that he had spoken to Kenya’s former President, and expressed regret that he had stepped down at the end of his two terms instead of clinging on power for another term or two.
“My only problem with my beloved big brother is that he didn’t stand for a third term. We would have won easily!” Gen Kainerugaba stated.
In an attempt to damage-control, President Museveni said he had reached out to Kenya’s 5th President William Ruto, and he was “very sorry” about his son’s barrage of tweets.
