Monday, July 12, 2021 -Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua has accused Kalonzo Musyoka and other allied leaders from Ukambani for turning the recent President’s tour into a political contest.

Talking about the point at which Wiper politicians seemed uncomfortable with the presence of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Dr. Alfred Mutua charged that Odinga’s presence was designed and this was consented upon by area governors for development reasons.

Raila’s presence in Ukambani caused some jitters among Wiper politicians led by Kalonzo Musyoka who went blunt by telling Odinga he was not invited… but anyway.

But speaking in a latest interview, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua lambasted Musyoka saying he demonstrated immaturity during the entire tour.

He added that, as governors from the area, they deliberately invited Raila to make the tour purely a development oriented and to showcase to the rest of the country how Ukambani is being turned around.

“We invited Raila in Ukambani as South Eastern Kenya Economic Bloc (SKEB) together with Governor Charity Ngilu and Kivutha Kibwana.

“We invited Raila because we wanted him to see how Ukambani is developed and because he has a huge following, many people will learn of good things about us,” he he divulged.

He noted that after the tour, Raila called back to thank him with other governors for their maturity and development in the area.

“They are opposed to Raila because when he comes, he will talk about development. They only wanted to score political points during the tour. They don’t think about development,” he added.

He further accused politicians of wanting to score cheap political points from the recent presidential tour.
