Mutua Speaks of Renaming A&L Hotel After Recent Divorce

Sunday, August 29, 2021 -Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua has refuted claims that he would be renaming their hotel after divorce with wife Lilian Ng’ang’a.

The lavish A&L (Alfred and Lilian) Hotel based in Machakos Town was named after the two lovebirds before things went south. Members of the public then have been wondering what would happen to the name what has forced the governor to clarify that he will still maintain the name for some time.

He noted that the project was their baby and divorcing doesn’t always mean renaming every thing to a new name likening this to children  whom he said are never given news names when parents go separate ways.

“There were concerns about what would happen to the name of the hotel we built together, and which we named A&L Hotel (Alfred & Lillian Hotel). But why would I change the name now? This is still our hotel. It is our baby. When parents divorce, do they deny their babies the right to use the names on the birth certificates?” Mutua said as quoted in the Daily Nation.

The said A&L Hotel was officially commissioned on July 24, 2020 and since then it has been active for over a year now.

Mutua and wife went public on their separation about a two weeks ago with Lilian noting that their relationship had in fact ended two months ago.

“The only constant in life is change and we must be present and aware to appreciate and embrace it. Winds of change blew my way and two months ago, I decided to end the long term relationship with Dr Alfred Mutua.

“With this, I put down the Machakos First Lady cap – and what an honor it has been to be of service. I will continue to do my projects close to my heart, charity work etc through the ‘Lilian Ng’ang’a Foundation’ as this has always been formed who i am as a person,” she said in her long social media post.

This was shortly followed by a confirmation from the Governor who described it as an amicable solution.
