Muturi Cries foul as EACC Knocks on his Door

Saturday, September 11, 2021 -Speaker Justin Muturi has implicated Uhuru Kenyatta’s government in his current political predicaments.

In a statement he issued on Friday September 10 evening, the National Assembly Speaker ranted that the ‘Deep State’ had started to threaten him with prosecutions after he showed his interest in vying for the top seat.

Talking about this on Friday, Muturi claimed that many of his friends are also on the radar of the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission EACC for associating with him.

He then went ahead to say that he is ready for investigations on anything including economic crime he could have committed against the wish of Kenyan law.

Muturi however took issue with Jubilee administration saying a democratic society should not thrive on illegal intimidations of those with divergence opinion.

“All I want to say is, every Kenyan has a constitutional right to vie for any political office in this country. Let’s stop the intimidation of our people. You can intimidate some people but you cannot intimidate all these people. This threatening people with opening files and investigations should stop,” he warned.

Muturi also threatened to avail a party on his own which he will be using to vie for the top seat since he doesn’t have confidence in all the parties and coalitions being formed now.

His remarks are coming at the time Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waigurua also complained of similar mistreatment.

She was, a couple of days ago, summoned to EACC headquarters at Integrity Center for graft related reasons.
