Monday, October 14, 2024 – Westlands Member of Parliament Tim Wanyonyi has accused ODM Party leadership for derailing his political ambitions.
Wanyonyi, who was speaking on Sunday October 13 with a group of supporters in Nairobi, claimed that his key enemies are in ODM Party in which he is elected.
He disclosed that any time he has announced his ambitions to run for the Nairobi County sit, he is pulled back by an unnamed senior men in ODM.
“Those who are my major enemies are in ODM Party. Last time when I wanted to run for the gubernatorial position they stopped me. This time around, anybody who will repeat this, we have to crush him on the spot,” he declared.
The Westlands lawmaker, Mr. Wanyonyi, who is now serving his third term in Parliament was prevailed upon by senior leaders in the Party to withdraw from the 2022 race so that to pave way for corporate executive Polycarp Igathe in the spirit of expanded Azimio la Umoja coalition that had, in it, the Jubilee Party of retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In the process, unfortunately, their candidate who had Wiper Party running mate, Philip Kaloki, would flop and Kenya Kwanza candidate Johnson Sakaja ended up winning to become next city governor.
Mr. Sakaja had previously served as Nairobi Country senator.
