Nairobi County Government Statement on KPLC Garbage Drama

Chris Akali

Nairobi City County has released a statement on why it dumbed litter right in front of the Kenya Power and Lighting Company, today Monday.

In their official statement, they argued that the utility provider had refused to meet them so that to solve the issues concerning the amount of money owed to the county and the vice versa.

“We have tried our best with the number of letters to KPLC to have a round table meeting with them but they have refused blatantly. That’s is not a person to dialogue with.

“But again we remain open to dialogue and need a firm commitment to pay and we already made our commitment and us we have been paying but for them it is over ten years. The level of arrogance with which the leadership of KPLC carries itself,” an official from the city government stated adding that still there is room to sit down and listen to each other.

The official shared that the KPLC also shut them down at one time.

The county truck unloaded a truck full of wastes and garbage at the entrance of the KPLC headquarters Nairobi today and left.
