Tuesday, April 11, 2023 –Government official economic advisor, David Ndii, has claimed that the regime is wasting a lot of resources on non-essential activities.
The Chair of Council of Economic Advisors, on Monday, April 10, while responding to social media users, openly painted a grim picture of the current regime which he hinted that could throw in the towel very soon.
When a communication expert on social media advised that the government should start by freezing all payments and benefits to those at the top so that to save the sinking country, Ndii quickly responded saying.
“Or throw in the towel,” Ndii suggested.
Speaking to Citizen Tv’s Waihiga Mwaura a day ago, Ndii clarified that whatever he speaks, he does it faithfully and truthfully so that every Kenyan can understand where the country is and why it is happening the way it is.
He even went ahead to state that there is still too much squandering in various public offices and, if not stopped, it may be hard to address the economic standoff currently facing the nation.
According to the economist, the Controller of Budget, Auditor General and various investigative agencies have terribly failed to do their duty of stopping misuse of public funds.
“Government is extremely wasteful, there is not a single day that I am not exasperated by not just how wasteful it is but by how deliberate it is and how unbothered people are.
“They are unable to reign in (referring to independent agencies). They are totally helpless. Every government is wasteful,” Ndii added.
He then recommended that the president should come up with a new structure in his government to help reduce theft of public resources.
Ndii went forward to advocate for automated services that should include procurement processes.
