Thursday, August 11, 2022 –Gubernatorial candidate for Kirinyaga Ms Wangui Ngirici has laughed off voter-rigging claims made by her competitor, Governor Anne Waiguru.
Taking to her social media on Wednesday August 10 evening, the Independent candidate hit out at Waiguru who had linked her to voter malpractices at a local polling station.
“The only back door that we know was at NYS during your tenure. TUPO SITE!” Ngirici said in a statement on Wednesday.
On Wednesday August 10, the incumbent Waiguru, through a series of tweets, ranted that two fully packed ballot boxes had been sneaked into the Kianyaga Tallying Center and that this was done in complete broad day light with police presence.
“Two ballot boxes with governors’ ballot enter Kirinyaga through the back door in broad dayllight! They MUST be removed and tallying MUST stop,” the governor tweeted.
She would also accuse Ngirici of deploying goons at the polling center so that to interfere with tallying of the results.
However, optimistic Ngirici asserted that she will be beating her fair and square and, therefore, she should stop whipping up emotions for sympathy reasons.
