Saturday, February 13, 2021 -KANU top brass continues to fault County Assembly of Baringo for shooting down the BBI Bill.
Accompanying his boss Gideon Moi, KANU Secretary General Nick Salat has sympathized with Baringo residents saying they had demonstrated ignorance on BBI thinking it belongs to Raila Odinga.
“Baringo people, I am sorry. I cry for you.”
“When other county assemblies have allocated time for public participation.”
“Baringo MCAs decided to shoot down the Bill without allowing residents to have a say.”
“This is very unfortunate. “
“We are confident Baringo people will endorse the constitutional amendments during the referendum,” Salat stated.
Baringo became the first county to reject the Building Bridges Initiative BBI Bill after ugly clashes ensued among rival camps.
According to records, 30 MCAs voted No on grounds that it did not serve the interests of citizens especially the low class.
KANU Chairman Gideon Moi, accompanied by his elder brother Reymond, also got concerned with the situation at Baringo Assembly saying they had demonstrated how they are not honest with leadership.
