Saturday, October 9, 2021 –President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed KANU Secretary General Nick Salat and former Attorney General Githu Muigai to State jobs.
The Saturday October 9 official statement seen by Homenews.co.ke indicated that Nick Salat is now the chairperson of Board of the Agriculture Development Corporation ADC; a job he will carry on for a period of three years from now.
On the same note, Prof Muigai will continue serving as a Non-Executive Chairperson of the Council of Legal Affairs.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 (5) (a) of the Legal Education Act, 2012, I, Uhuru Kenyatta, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, re-appoint— GITHU MUIGAI to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Council of Legal Education, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 6th October 2021,” read the Notice from Statehouse.
In the same appointments, City lawyer Kioko Kilukumi was appointed chairperson of Energy and Petroleum Tribunal while former Principal Secretary Mutea Iringo becomes the Chairperson of the National Cereal and Produce Board NCPB.
In other State appointments issued today, Andrew Mukite Musangi and Gichira Kibaara were reappointed to the Public Procurement Regulatory Board and Non-Governmental Organization Coordination Board respectively as Kathleen Openda becomes Chairperson Council Kenya Institute of Mass Communication.
Elsewhere, former Chief Justice, Dr. Willy Mutunga was today appointed to serve in the capacity of Professor of Public Law at Kabarak University.
This was revealed in an official statement by the institution which stated that they were pleased to be joined by the former CJ who is a renowned scholar of international standards.
