Tuesday, June 27, 2023 –Opposition outfit today, Tuesday June 27, at Kamukunji Grounds, resolved to end any plans to return to the Bipartisan table.
The team led by their leaders Raila Amollo Odinga and Martha Karua, resolved in unison to reclaim their lost victory and to push for democracy which it claimed was being compromised by the new regime.
Raila seized the opportunity to announce Friday July 7th, as day to unveil program for nationwide civil disobedience against this Kenya Kwanza government.
“We have to stop Ruto and we have to do it now because he is testing whether we can o rwe cannot stop him from stealing everything he wants.
“We must tell Ruto that he has stolen enough and cannot steal anymore from the people who have the power,” Raila declared.
Mr. Odinga continued that he will not relent to unite the country against Ruto and those who think like him.
“We are going to do whatever that it takes to stop his dictatorship he is trying to bring back.
“We have bad news for Ruto. We are now resolved in making them learn the painful way never again to mess with the people’s freedom and lives.
In that regard, Odinga announced that there will be no more dialogue after the government side squandered months of such talks.
The opposition boss also advised supporters to use all means possible to deny this government the recently signed fuel taxes in the Finance Bill 2023.
“Let us walk to work or drive in a pool. The police should also allow PSVs to carry in access. We must deny Mr. Ruto the fuel taxes by limiting consumption,” he announced.
Addressing in the meeting, former defense Cabinet Cecretary Eugene Wamalwa described recent passing of the Finance Bill as a way of imposing to Kenyans the punitive taxation measures.
“Its an incomplete disregard for our views, and we declare an end to the bipartisan talks to which we had sent our delegation. Wakati wa kuongea umekwisha, it is time for action,” Wamalwa added.
This was being said even as Kenya Kwanza coalition invited Azimio counterparts for a meeting on Tuesday, July 4 meant to help resolve their differences so that to resume bipartisan talks.
