Thursday, November 25, 2021 –Deputy President’ William Ruto’s UDA Party members are happy after a Nairobi Court reinstated Senator Isaac Mwaura back to office.
The High Court today Thursday November 25 ruled in favour of Senator Mwaura who had been de-gazzeted a year ago from his Jubilee nomination slot.
In the ruling, the court set aside the determination of the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal that had approved Mwaura’s ouster from the Senate.
According to the court, the Tribunal did not offer the Senator a fair hearing ground and hence the decision to strike his name off was baseless.
The court also found the decision by the ruling Jubilee Party’s National Disciplinary Committee NDC as having failed to adhere to the due process as stipulated in the Constitution.
Following the landmark ruling, Deputy President William Ruto who is a close confidant of Mwaura termed the verdict as historic saying Kenyans can now trust the courts for doing good work by protecting the rights of the poor in the society.
“Congratulations Hon. Isaac Mwaura for being reinstated as a nominated Senator.
“Once more our Courts have come to show that they are the last refuge for Kenyans whose rights have been trampled upon,” UDA tweeted.
On his part, an elated Mwaura thanked God alongside his supporters who stood with him throughout the difficult time he has been fighting this war in courts.
