Sunday, August 6, 2023 –Residents of Nyeri County were treated on free meals during President William Ruto’s second day working tour around Mt. Kenya.
Hundreds of them thronged Sagana State Lodge on Sunday August 6 where they were served enough lunchtime of rice with meat.
“Tumeshiba kabisa,” one of the Nyeri residents confessed while feasting on rice and beef at Sagana State Lodge.
Another resident attributed this to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s last year promise of opening State Lodge gates for everyone to share a meal with him.
“I thought it was a joke when DP said he will open State Lodge gates and now its true this has happened as we are served on rice and meat. I was called for more meat and I am happy with this government.
“Even Jesus prepared food for his people before preaching to them the good gospel; we are happy a lot,” the local said as captured on Citizen Tv news.
Deputy President Righathi Gachagua made good his ‘Mchele Nyama’ promise following the provision of the meals to Nyeri residents today Sunday.
They were treated to the enjoyable rice and beef stew meal after attending the Interdenominational Church Service presided over by President William Ruto.
Also present in the meeting was Chief Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Kiambu County Governor Kimani Wamatang’i among others.
