Tuesday, January 19, 2021 -Chances are high that the Raila Odinga-led-Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party could win the Matungu mini-race by a landslide.

Photos which are now doing rounds on the interweb indicated how the former area Member of Parliament David Were is currently a favourite of the locals due to his past track record.

Mr. Were was a two term area MP before he was dislodged from the position in 2017 by the late Justus Murunga.

In their recent weekend rally, supporters of ODM came in large numbers to meet the veteran legislator, Mr. Were, who was accompanied by Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya followed by a subsequent meeting at the IEBC offices on Tuesday where Mr. Were officially presented his papers for scrutiny.

Oparanya who has been confident with Were’s candidature promised to deliver a resounding victory for their party.
