ODM Issues Statement on Jacaranda UDA Rally

Monday, January 17, 2022 –Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party has issued an official statement on the matter of chaos that erupted during Deputy President William Ruito’s Sunday rally at Jacaranda.

In a scathing attack, ODM has described the chaos as stage-managed for the purposes of gaining political sympathy.

The Raila Odinga’s secretariat went on to claim that Ruto and his stooges always thrive in violent since days of YK92 and has carried this brand ever since Nyayo era.

“Violence has been part and parcel of Ruto’s brand of politics right from the time he introduced himself to Kenyans through the YK92. Other than use of money to buy support, violence is Ruto’s main tool for political ascendance,” partly read the statement.

The Raila team of defense has argued that the violence that ensued during the Sunday January 16 UDA rally was self-sponsored and that groups within UDA camp had to fight for Ruto’s never-ending handouts.

The DP on his part had linked the disruptions to ODM Party boss Raila Odinga whom he said has a history of misusing youth from Kisumu and now in Nairobi.

“Shame on you bwana kitendawili. You did this in Kisumu and now you have brought this to Nairobi. My administration will not allow youth to be misused again.

“This is the year for us to end the tribalism and political intolerance. We shall have respect for all Kenyans,” Ruto charged.

During Ruto’s Jacaranda event, police had to swing into action to contain the worrying groups – one which was chanting MP Babu Owino’s name and another of UDA Party.
