Monday, July 1, 2024 –An Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party member of County Assembly was badly injured during last Gen Zs demonstrations.
In a video shared on X on Monday July 1, hundreds of youths can be seen crashing her car and rolling it on the ground over again as they hurl insults at the owner.
It is not yet clear why they pounded her car and reduced it to a mere wreckage, but some sources claim it was a case of mistaken identity in the ongoing Gen Z anti-Fiance Bill protests.
Later during the day, ODM Party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna reported and confirmed that the car belonged to nominated MCA and Chairlady ODM Party Nairobi Ms Catherine Okoth who was injured and she is scheduled to undergo a major medical surgery following the incident.
“This vehicle belongs to Hon. Catherine Okoth. She is a nominated MCA and the Chairlady of ODM in Nairobi. She was badly hurt in this incident and is currently recovering from surgery at Nairobi hospital,” revealed Sifuna.
