Friday, August 6, 2021 -Orange Democratic Movement has hit out at Deputy President William Ruto for using his office to advance his personal agenda and business.

In their Wednesday August 4 presser held at Chunwga House, ODM read a hard hitting statement asking several pertinent questions surrounding the conduct of the DP as a holder of a high office in the country.

The Raila Odinga-led faction took the opportunity to list several instances Ruto has been found hosting strange characters at public offices among them leaving the Harambee Annex premises under the freedom of sacked Rashid Echesa as well as hosting people who may compromise the security of the nation and his political rivals.

“We will keep asking why a holder of such high office hosts strange characters at his house and office. We are not as ignorant as the yellow-clad characters hosted at the Karen residence today,” the statement read in part.

Signed by Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, ODM listed in their statement  a number of mistakes Ruto has done since his first term as the DP todate.

They argued that instead of Ruto having used their first term to implement the highly popularised Bottom Up economic model, the team went on a looting spree as well as grabbing the nation.

Mr. Sifuna noted that Ruto and his cronies are heavily linked to unsavory characters as well as flying around with persons who don’t fall far from money laundering acivies.

They also stated that, if not checked right now, the second in command has a character of a man who wants to overturn the government.

ODM also linked all the Jubilee problems to Ruto saying he ran the show alone during their first term as well as part of second term before Uhuru stopped the taps.

“Despite what they say, the truth remains that the problems in Jubilee begin and end with DP Ruto. None other than Jubilee Party Leader H. E Uhuru Kenyatta has said as much,” partly read the statement.

Sifuna said Ruto and his group were suffering from a bitter life after Uhuru stopped them from launching unnecessary projects around the country. He therefore asked the DP to be man enough and face the president one on one with his complaints rather than diverting the attention to ODM leader Raila Odinga.
