Monday, October 16, 2023 –More members in the Azimio la Umoja camp have come out to support calls for a Kalonzo Musyoka ticket in 2027.

“We all know Kalonzo has a good heart and I was one of those people who almost shade tears at Jacaranda last year when Kalonzo, again, decided to shelve his presidential ambitions to support Baba for the third time,” he said.

Sifuna further recounted how the Wiper Party leader supported his senatorial bid last year; what made all the Ukambani people who live in Nairobi to vote him (Sifuna) as their senator.

He also added that even Raila Odinga knows that there is a debt he owes Kalonzo Musyoka and which must be repaid no matter what.

“I am in ODM and I know what Baba is thinking about. I would say the same even if Baba was in this meeting. We all owe Kalonzo a political debt. In the near future, we must repay,” he further stated in the thanks giving event.

Sifuna noted that he will keep Kitui Senator Enock Wambua closer because of Kalonzo’s probable presidency in future.

“You will notice that nowadays, I keep Senator Wambua close because you never know, he could be the man who will receive my calls when Kalonzo takes over power at the State house,” he quipped.

Former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga who was also present, added his voice to the same saying Kalonzo’s future is bright, finally.

The reformed Mungiki boss recounted how he predicted Kalonzo’s presidency some months back and now it is almost happening.

Their remarks corroborating what their boss Raila Odinga said on the Wiper Party leader in Migori County.

In agreement to support Kalonzo

Speaking in Migori on Sunday October 15, the ex-premier reignited his succession politics by heaping praises at the Wiper Party leader whom he described as a long-time loyal friend.

He used the opportunity to fire back at President William Ruto who recently asked for his (Odinga) 2027 support.

He said, Kalonzo had for may years stood with him than any other politician in the country and hinted at a Kalonzo ticket.

“This man we have stood with him together since the KANU regime, we went ahead together and called NDP, we went to NARC and even to ODM and we have stood with him twice fighting,” Mr. Odinga said.

Mr. Odinga mentioned that Kalonzo was a true friend who even after failing to be named the running mate in last year’s election, still supported Azimio course.

He then warned Ruto against creating an imaginary rift between him and Kalonzo Musyoka for political mileage.

Odinga further stated that he has no plans of falling out with the Wiper Party leader now or in future because of their unaccomplished business ahead.
