Sunday, January 21, 2021  -Former Busia County governor Sospiter Ojaamong has dumped Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party leader Raila Odinga for Ruto.

In his car roof speech during President William Ruto ongoing tour in Busia County on Sunday January 21, Mr. Ojaamong asked those still in ODM to switch parties and join the ruling party UDA saying that is where development can be found with ease and not in the opposition.

Ojaamong further noted to that in 2027 contest, his supporters will fully throw weight behind President William Ruto.

“We will, henceforth, throw our weight behind Ruto and not the old man who we have been with for long.

“This, we will do in our quest to thank Ruto for creating us a new county split from Busia” he argued.

He said his resolve to join Kenya Kwanza wing is informed by the fact that it has more legislators who can move a motion on the floor, successfully.

“It’s Ruto who has the majority in both Parliaments. Through him we can secure our new county from Busia,” Ojaamong added.

In his response, Dr. Ruto who also addressed residents said he will work towards fulfilling the promise of creating a new County but only if they accept to switch from ODM to UDA Party.

All along, politician Ojaamong has been an ODM Party stalwart who, first, became Teso Constituency member of Parliament through ODM Party before he became Busia County governor twice on ODM ticket.
