Ojienda, Jalang’o Laugh off Expulsion Letters From ODM Party

Wednesday, September 6, 2023 –Lawyer Tom Ojienda has dismissed party verdict that saw him together with several others expelled for alleged gross misconduct.

In a statement seen by Homenews.Co.ke, the lawyer rubbished the move which he termed as inconsequential and which will not stop him from working with President William Ruto.

The first term lawmaker added that he will not be apologizing for his action despite calls by the party top brass to apologise.

“My Party has today expelled me for working with HE President William Ruto. I have no apology and will continue to work with the President,” he wrote in a response on Wednesday September 6 evening.

Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party expelled more than five lawmakers attached to the party over what was described as gross misconduct.

Making the announcement, the Orange Party National Executive Committee NEC listed Elisha Odhiambo (Gem), Sen. Tom Ojienda (Kisumu), Hon. Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Hon. Felix Odiwuor (Lang’ata) and Hon. Caroli Omondi (Suba South) for defying party position and gross misconduct.

The NEC has resolved to expelled from the party Hon. Elisha Odhiambo (Gem), Sen. Tom Ojienda (Kisumu), Hon. Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Hon. Felix Odiwuor (Lang’ata) and Hon. Caroli Omondi (Suba South) for defying party position and gross misconduct,” the circular read in part.

Also, Nominated MCAs in Kisumu County Assembly Hon. Caroline Opar, Hon. Kennedy Ajwang’, Hon. Peter Obaso and Hon. Regina Kizito will have their nominations revoked.

ODM leadership spared Hon. Paul Abuor and Hon. Mark Nyamita who appeared in person before the Disciplinary Committee.

The duo was only reprimanded and fined a sum of sh. 1M each to be paid to the party within sixty days.

Party Grassroots elections will be held early next year on dates to be determined by the National Executive Committee (NEC).
