Wednesday, January 5, 2022 –One Kenya Alliance Principals have given a hint on what could be their next political step.
Speaking on Wednesday January 5, the leaders who held a press conference in Nairobi said they have never spoken to anyone with regard to making coalitions. They however indicated their willingness to join either Ruto or Raila’s Azimio camp.
The statement was meant to dispel rumors that each of the principals was holding secret meetings at night with Ruto and Raila in preparation to join forces ahead of 2022.
For instance, ANC Party boss Musalia Mudavadi stated that there was no any formal invitation to OKA to make an agreement with anyone including William Ruto and therefore whatever rumor was being peddled out there was meant to distort facts as they are.
He added that the issue of forming any coalition with their rivals will be dealt with later on at the appropriate time.
According to the ANC Party leader, they will only speak about coalitions if called upon by their political admirers. Same sentiments were echoed by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka who distanced himself from any talks with ODM Party leader Raila Odinga.
“The last time I spoke to Raila was in November last year. How can you flirt with someone you don’t talk to,” the Wiper leader said.
The team bragged that they were becoming bigger by day to a level they are already getting the attention of key political stakeholders from Central Kenya.
They also talked about electoral laws which they said must be fair to all players since no one knows where he will be tomorrow.
“We must all endeavor to put in place an electoral process and system that is fair, just, verifiable and transparent Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC)” the statement by OKA indicated.
So far Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula’s allies have joined forces with the Hustler team in shooting down the new political parties’ bill in parliament; surrounding coalitions.
