Wednesday, March 2, 2022 –Kalonzo Musyoka-led One Kenya Alliance OKA has failed to sign their coalition agreement, today.

The move to postpone the exercise was informed by the fact that Narc-Kenya Party leader Martha Karua wanted more time to digest the contents of the agreement.

“We were to sign our coalition agreement today but we have postponed to polish certain legal issues. Nevertheless, we are committed to our unity. We shall be letting you know the time we shall sign the agreement,” the OKA statement read.

The team comprising Karua, Musyoka, Gideon Moi and Cyrus Jirongo, which had met today at Kalonzo Musyoka’s premises also agreed to push the exercise forward so that to also allow those interested in joining them to do so before they can finally put pen to paper.

“We still are open to receive other parties that we are talking to into the OKA coalition and to building coalitions with other Kenyans,” they added.

Martha Karua had asked his team members to give her some seven more days before she could see whether she can be part of them or not.

Yesterday Tuesday March 1, Narc Secretary-General Michael Orwa, indicated that their lawyers were combing through the document and marking grey areas for clarification.

“For instance, we have the coalition political parties and we need to understand the implications of signing such an agreement,” he stated.

He also stated that, upto now, they were not sure if coalitions could join other political formations, just incase.

On the same Tuesday March 1, Mr. Musyuoka who is gravitating towards Azimio, blamed Raila Odinga for reneging on their 2017 NASA agreement.

He is now insisting on an open structured dialogue that would seal all the loopholes that he has since pointed out in their previous pacts.
