Thursday, June 23, 2022 –Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has responded to Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula’s Monday outburst against ODM Party leader Raila Odinga.

Addressing yesterday Wednesday June 22 during a local function held in Kakamega County, the outgoing county chief noted with deep concern the verbal attacks which the two Kenya Kwanza principles had aimed at Odinga and said this was an unfortunate case whose aim is to set Luos against the Luhya community.

Last Monday, Mudavadi and Wetangula organized a late press meeting in which they used to destroy the image of both Mr. Odinga and Oparanaya saying the Azimio leadership had no plan for their region.

But Oparnya has told them to divert their frustrations elsewhere now that there political boat is quickly sinking; instead of blaming Azimio la Umoja flagbearer Raila Odinga.

“Mudavadi should be grateful to Hon Odinga for getting him out of political limbo that he was thrown into by former Vihiga Governor Moses Akaranga when he humiliated him in the Sabatia Parliamentary contest in 2002. It is Hon Odinga who held his hand and brought him back into political limelight raising him to the position of Deputy Prime Minister,” he said.

Terming their attacks as insincere and unfounded, Oparanya further explained how his boss Mr. Odinga even made Mudavadi a prime minister at some point a post Mudavadi squandered for five years and returned home empty handed.

He challenged the ANC Party boss to show any record he had achieved for their community for the past 30 years he has been in national politics.

The governor went ahead to say that Mudavadi and Wetang’ula had, unfortunately, wasted their opportunity to become great leaders of the Mulembe nation and now they have resorted to fruitless blame game.

The outgoing governor then urged the Luhya community to quickly move away from such retrogressive political figures and bank their hopes in the Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya coalition whose economic agenda and blue-print will revive the economy of the Region.
