Wednesday, August 17, 2022 –Azimio la Umoja running mate Martha Karua still exudes confidence that they will be taking over the next government after Uhuru Kenyatta officially leaves office.
In a tough statement today Wednesday August 17 during their second Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Parliamentary Group and Governors meeting held at the Kenyatta International Convention Center KICC, Ms Karua said their figures still puts them ahead of William Ruto and that whatever IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati had announced stands null and void.
“Our figures show that we command the National Assembly. On matters elections, ours is victory deferred but it is coming home,” she asserted.
On his part, Wiper Party boss Kalonzo Musyoka urged their team to remain united as they confront this matter through available legal structures.
“Nchi hii bado ni mapambano ili tupate haki mwishowe; the legal process is ongoing,” he asked their elected members.
Wrapping up the meeting, their leader Raila Odinga divulged that this was a meeting among the leaders of Azimio from all parts of the country and together had resolved to go to court after rejecting the election results.
They were speaking this as the President-elect William Ruto was, a few kilometers away, hosting faith leaders at his Karen Residence, in Nairobi.
