Thursday, January 12, 2023 –A series of photos of billboards containing images of Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo and President William Ruto continues to elicit mixed reactions.
In a social troll version, Kenyans have continued to take issue with the CS for going an extra mile to use millions to erect billboards is praise of the President.
Owalo was pictured with the president shaking hands, what Kenyans think was not an enough reason to put this on the roadside billboard.
“He should use the money he used to make the billboards to support hopeless jobless youths in the country,” one user observed.
Another social user argued that the scarcity of resources in this country does not allow a government leader to waste resources on such cosmetic projects.
“Instead of wasting taxpayers’ money why don’t you channel those resources to meaningful projects? Kenyans are dying of hunger and that should be given priority,” another user added.
On Wednesday January 11, Mr. Owalo would share the same images on his Twitter handle with a positive caption.
“Welcome president our people have welcomed you and beloved President,” it is the message on the billboards.
The tour will be President William Ruto’s second tour of the region since he was sworn into office after winning office.
Ruto will kick-start his tour on Saturday January 13 during the homecoming party of the CS.
