Saturday, December 31, 2022 –Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly Robert Alai has accused President William Ruto of fighting hard to save embattled Meru Governor, Kawira Mwangaza.
Alai who doubles up as a city blogger has pointed an accusing finger at the head of State and his cronies of interfering with the removal of the governor.
In his latest post, Alai indicated that Mwangaza will still be impeached no matter what since she is not wanted in her county.
He, therefore, asked the National executive to move out of the equation and leave the MCAs to deal with the troubled Meru County boss.
“Senate compromised. Kawira Mwangaza is a cultist and won’t survive for long before another impeachment. President Ruto must stop defending mediocrity. Bad governors should all go,” Alai noted.
Alai’s sentiments are coming barely a day after the Boni Khalwale-led parliamentary Committee dealt a blow to Meru MCAs who wanted Kawira out.
Khalwale argued that they had found out that all the accusations raised against Kawira could not be substantiated by the accusers.
“After the consideration of charges made against Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza, all 11 members of the Special Senate Committee agreed and recommended that none of the charges was proved,” Khalwale remarked.
The special panel concluded its week-long hearings on Wednesday before retreating to write its final verdict.
Kawira was on December 14 impeached by 67 of the 69 MCAs that were present in the Meru County Assembly chambers.
