Friday, December 24, 2021 –Former Digital strategist and now Deputy President William Ruto aide Dennis Itumbi is recuperating in a Nairobi hospital after his claimed abduction on Wednesday.
In some media reports, it was reported that the outspoken blogger was abducted by unknown group of persons who bundled him into a mysterious car that vanished with him to privacy. Itumbi had just left a barber shop around Nairobi.
This is despite initially being said to have been arrested after he had failed to honour court summons issued against him over a child support court case he is battling.
But on Thursday December 23 evening, according to Elgeiyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, their colleague had been found brutally beaten and was receiving treatment in hospital.
“Glad to see our brother Itumbi alive. Sad to see him in such pain. Hopeful that he will bounce back stronger. Appalled that Police officers who should be protecting him harmed him. May his tormentors who are enjoying power never know peace. Politics shouldn’t be done this way,” Murkomen updated on Twitter.
Nonetheless, until now no one knows the motive of his abduction and who was behind it. What is widely known is that Itumbi is a vocal supporter of the Bottom Up economic model and has been at constant loggerheads with the State since his removal from office.
