Saturday, January 7, 2023 –Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua took a long walk on Mt Kenya in what could be seen as search of leadership blessings.
In a series of images he shared online on Saturday January 7 morning, the self-styled Mt Kenya kingpin insinuated that walking around the Mountain that signifies how special the Central Region is to the country was not only refreshing but also his long-awaited mission.
He described the Mountain top as calm nature that reminded him of what people are as human beings.
“There is a certain calmness about nature that reminds us of who we are as human beings. To come this close to the wonders of the world and to marvel at the works of God is a truly refreshing experience. Mt. Kenya is mythical. It is mysterious,” Gachagua stated.
The DP added that the works of nature remains a strong link to residents of Central Region where he comes from.
“Our mountains, lakes, rivers, ocean, and forests are a strong link to our roots. This is a reminder of the greatness of our past and the possibilities in our collective future,” he added.
And reacting on the photos, one user by the name Saint Peter, said he is now in full support of the DP despite not voting him in last general election.
“I didn’t vote for you neither did I support KK govt but here I support you 100% I wish I can also get a chance to Worship God facing Mt Kenya like our forefathers,” Peter commented.
Others thought the DP was just on a political mission meant to endear him to his Mt Kenya Region as he prepares to be the official kingpin following the ouster of Uhuru Kenyatta who had a 10-year tenure at the top of Mt Kenya politics.
Just a couple of weeks ago, Mt Kenya elders switched camp from Uhuru to Rigathi Gachagua whom they vowed to not only recognize but also support until he becomes president one day.
