Saturday, September 16, 2023 –President William Ruto visited American tech hub Silicon Valley in the United States of America U.S.A to interact with the top tech billionaires in the world.
Ruto splashed photos of him being taken around various world technology companies in the Silicon Valley where he met with various wealthy world founders.
Among the billionaires Ruto and his entourage met include Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Apple’s Tim Cook, Alphabet Ruth of Intel and CEOs from Nike, GAP and Levi Strauss in San Francisco State.
“Kenya has plenty of opportunities to offer American technology and manufacturing companies, particularly its potential as a vital African base and prime centre for tech, manufacturing, connectivity, infrastructure development and garment fabrication,” Ruto remarked in an early morning statement seen by Homenews.Co.ke.
The head of State used the opportunity to hold progressive, productive and positive engagements with Chief Executive Officers CEO’s from the listed top companies with an aim of attracting their operations in Kenya.
“Kenya is a full package investment destination,” Dr. Ruto added.
Ruto noted that, Intel, had already established an AI Developer Lab at Kenya Technical Trainers’ College to train master trainers for youth AI application development and is ready to venture into other areas.
On the other hand, Microsoft Inc. has made a significant impact in Kenya by providing wireless broadband and device recharge facilities to over 1.5 million people in rural areas through a partnership with Mawingu Limited.
President Ruto left the country days ago for the U.S tour where he is expected to spend weeks before coming back to Kenya.
He is accompanied by Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Dr. Alfred Mutua among a few others with U.S Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman’s presence.
