Police Holding Nanny who Murdered boy, Injured Mother in Baringo

Monday, October 11, 2021 –Police in Baringo have managed to arrest a murder suspect who allegedly killed a 7 year old boy before injuring the mother.

The Star reported on Monday October 11 that the suspect – Lydiah Chelagat Kipngetich – perpetrated the heinous act on September 24 at Marigat Sub County before she took to her heels.

She used both a rungu and a panga when attacking the victims leading to one death as another sustained serious cuts.

According to Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI George Kinoti, the attacker crept into master bedroom of her employer where she carried out the brutal attack. leaving her employer injured on her arm, head and neck.

“With the man of the house (prison warden) away on duty, the killer nanny had found a perfect time to strike his family.

“It was in the process of getting the woman ready for hospital that the neighbours stumbled upon the boy’s body hidden under the bed” DCI established adding that the boy had some blood oozing from the mouth.

Though it took detectives some days to finally arrest her in Kongasis, DCI has confirmed that she is currently under the custody of Marigat Police where charges are being prepared.
