Wednesday, September 15, 2021 -A teacher at St. Johns Sikinwa Secondary School in Saboti Mt. Elgon is nursing injuries after he survived an attack by Form 4 students who are still at large.
Nicholas Bett was last evening attacked at his residence by a group of students who stormed his home at around 7:30PM and landed on him with clubs, blows, kicks and stones.
The students first hit him on the neck with a blunt object before landing on him to a point he was overwhelmed by their surging numbers.
Sources have told this desk that this attack is attributed to the fact that the teacher is a principled type and who insists that all students take interest in his subjects.
Though the residence has two other teachers who live close to him, they had to escape unharmed when they immediately learnt of the attack. Among those who escaped safe are Michael Odhiambo and John Naibei.
They however ran to file a report at Gituamba Police Station demanding for an immediate arrest of the students who should be charged in court.
In a statement from the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education KUPPET Trans Nzoia County, the teachers body now want the three teachers quickly transferred from the school to save their lives.
Upto now, the students, according to KUPPET Secretary General Furahja Luweti, are still at large.
