Saturday, May 13, 2023 –Western Region politicians and church leaders have come together to mourn retired Bishop of ACK Diocese of Mumias, Beneah Salala Okumu, who died yesterday Friday May 12.
Led by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, the leaders described the late as a jovial man of cloth who interacted with everyone regardless of their class.
Through his social media media platform, Prime CAS Mudavadi confirmed this death by eulogising the late as a dedicated religious leader who was deeply involved in development projects around Western Region.
Mudavadi further condoled the family including Mama Esther and children whom he wished health and strength as they battle the loss.
“I condole with the family of the late Bishop Emeritus Beneah Salalah Okumu and the entire ACK fraternity.
“He was a strong religious leader who dedicated himself not only to the spiritual well-being of Western Kenya but also deeply immersed himself in the development programs of the region.
“My prayers are with Mama Esther and her family. May he rest in peace,” Mudavadi mourned.
So far, the actual cause of the death is yet to be disclosed but sources have claimed that the retired clergy has been in and out hospital for three years.
The late Salalah Okumu was the Bishop Emeritus ACK Diocese of Mumias.
Scanning through his academic achievements, Homenews.co.ke established that he was an alumnus of Coady International Institute where he graduated in December 1996 with a Diploma in Social Development.
