Monday, April 8, 2024 –Director of Public Prosecution DPP has released an official statement to conform that DJ Joe Mfalme was a free man.
On the other hand, Allan Ochieng and alias Hype Balo will be charged with the murder of Felix Kelian Kintosi, a DCI officer attached to the Dagoretti Directorate of Criminal Investigation office while the six co-suspects, among them Joseph Mwenda Munoru, popularly known as Dj Joe Mfalme, shall be prosecution witnesses.
The prosecution, led by PC. Michael Mutune stated that the investigations by the DCI were concluded and there was no enough evidence to charge Joseph Mwenda Munoru, Eric Kariuki Gathua, Simon Wambugu Wanjiru, Khadija Abdi Wako, Sammy Cheruyot Rotich and Agnes Kerubo Mogoi.
Speaking shortly after his release, Mfalme appeared a happy man and told a section of the media which was ready outside the court to interview him, that he had learnt his lesson for the last 14 days he had been under police custody.
“I have learnt a lesson for the last 14 days. I will not speak for now because my lawyers have spoken. Allow me to, atleast, wash myself and shave,” he quipped as he walked towards his car.
DJ Mfalme was arrested two weeks ago after his crew was accused of participating in the murder of a a senior Nairobi DCI officer who later succumbed to injuries.
Mfalme is a popular disk jokey who plies his trade around Nairobi and other major towns.
