Saturday, December 18, 2021 –Three students from Chogoria Girls High School reportedly died in a frisky accident along Kenol-Makutano Road at Kambili area.
The accident is also said to have claimed life of a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) driver as per Murang’a South Sub-County police boss Alexander Shikondi.
The Police report indicated that the three students died on the spot while several other students were left with major injuries and have since been hospitalized.
Photos posted by Homenews.co.ke showed a sorry state of affairs where a lorry seemingly collided with the full to capacity Nissan.
This makes part of the rising concerns on accidents on major highways this festive season with traffic police urging road users to observe precautionary measures to save lives.
“Note that our officers will ever be present to offer any assistance as they ensure compliance with the rule of law. We thus appeal for maximum cooperation from the members of the public in reducing the number of road carnage,” police stated.
National Police Service NPS has observed that road carnage has increased with the most affected category being the boda boda sector.
To contain the situation, NPS vowed to collaborate with all commuters and drivers to ensure that cases of road accidents are cut down.
