Tuesday, August 15, 2023 -Embattled Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC commissioners fled away from the country after elections.
Making these revelations while in Emali Makueni County today Tuesday August 15 where he had gone for a burial service, Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party leader Raila Odinga said the four commissioners who sharply differred with their boss, Chairman Wafula Chebukati, had to flee to America over threats to their lives.
“Madam Cherea and Irene Masit ran away to the United States of America because their lives were in danger by this administration,” Raila claimed on his stopover.
Additionally, Odinga noted that Ruto’s administration has been hunting down anybody who opposed them in the last election; describing Ruto as a bitter and vindictive leader.
He wondered how people who ‘purported’ to have won last year’s general elections are still holding grudge on some individuals over past political engagements.
Mr. Odinga also argued that it was a bad Supreme Court decission to declare Ruto winner in an election that was decided by a manoriry number of electoral commissioners.
“Four commissioners rejected the results but Chebukati still went on with handing over result certificate,” Odinga recounted further.
The Azimio la Umoja boss was speaking this in Emali area in the company of colleague Kalonzo Musyoka where they had gone to grace a burial service of one of their supporters who was shot dead by police officers in the last anti-State demonstrations.
The Azimio brigade assured supporters that the demonstrations will be back as soon as the ongoing talks collapse over disagreements.
