Saturday, September 9, 2023 –Suna East Member of Parliament MP Junet Mohamed is on a tour in Europe where Raila recently met with him shortly before he(Raila) returned back to the country.
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, on Friday September 8, chose to respond to concerns that he had fallen out with Junet after losing the last year’s general election.
During his Migori County visit of Friday, Mr. Odinga revealed that he was still close to Junet and that the MP will be back into his political activities once he is back from Europe.
Odinga also clarified that he was still trusting Junet in his inner-circle despite increased speculations pointing at a fallout.
“You know that I have a young man who has worked very hard for the party and his name is Junet. He was unable to come today but I was with him the other day in the UK and I have sent him somewhere else. I hope you will accept his greetings,” Odinga stated.
Last time MP Junet was seen in public was on August 3 when he was addressing the Parliament on the controversy surrounding Germany tech Worldcoin whose activities in the country raised eyebrows.
He has also been rare on social media, unlike before, when on a daily basis, was commenting on national and ODM Party political matters.
Pundits classify that his absence in the recent opposition demonstrations as a signal to branching away from Odinga’s central powerhouse.
After the last year’s general election, a section of Azimio supporters lambasted the MP for having played a major role in misleading Raila throughout the campaign period.
It was reported that Junet’s word was as good as law in Azimio campaigns that led to a loss to Kenya Kwanza’s well-organised William Ruto.
