Friday, January 14, 2022 –Former Premier Raila Odinga has faulted Senator Mithika Linturi over recent Eldoret rally remarks.
Odinga who met Linturi on Wednesday January 12 in a funeral service in Meru cautioned the Hustler unit against hate mongering saying every Kenyan has a right to live anywhere.
The two met after a long time and since Linturi made the derogatory remarks during the Hustler Eldoret rally in which DP William Ruto was unveiled as the flag bearer.
During the funeral, Raila was forced to switch his speech to address Lunturi who walked in as he(Odinga) was continuing with speaking.
The opposition honcho noted that no one can be allowed to chase another from anywhere in this republic and that this cannot be allowed anymore.
“Welcome Senator, welcome Senator,” Raila stated as Linturi walked towards his seat. “I have seen that your Senator has arrived and before he speaks, I would like to tell him to avoid inflammatory remarks.
“There is no ‘madoadoa’ in our country. Is that not so? Every Kenyan has a right to stay anywhere they please because this is our country,” the ODM boss wet on.
Raila argued that Linturi’s statements amounted to hate speech and could fuel animosity among communities.
He added that such recklessness from some politicians could plunge the country into chaos similar to what was witnessed in 2007/8.
