Thursday, March 23, 2023 –Azimio la umoja leaders led by Raila Odinga have exposed night-long meetings held at Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Karen Home in Nairobi.
According to claims made by the opposition chief Raila Odinga today Thursday March 23, Rigathi, Kiharu’s Ndindi Nyoro and Kikuyu’s Kimani Ichung’wa held a meeting with youth fetched from around the country and planned to provide them with MDD attires with the aim of causing bloodshed and death during demonstrations on Monday next week.

“We remain peaceful and will hold our demonstrations within the confines of the Law,” Raila clarified in today’s press briefing adding that:
“We call upon all patriotic Kenyans to come out in large numbers for mother of all demonstrations in Nairobi on Monday (March 27) and to do so peacefully,” the Azimio leader further urged supporters.
Raila has claimed that several youth were invited at Gachagua’a residence and the meeting turned out to be a strategy session to counter Monday’s demonstrations.
They have asked the DP and his allies to keep off Azimio la Umoja affairs which have been peaceful throughout.
“DP Rigathi is planning to cause chaos during demonstrations and report Azimio leaders to ICC,” Odinga further said.
A kilometer away, DP Gachagua who was addressing a different meeting urged the clergy not to call for a Raila-Ruto truce.
“We are telling the clergy not to request us to sanction blackmail and impunity. He is blackmailing us into talks. How can you request us to fall into that trap,” he said.

He was responding to clergies’ calls for an urgent dialogue between the two political rivals – Raila Odinga and President William Ruto.
Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja also, recently, urged the duo to find a lasting solution on the problem that is costing his county billions of money in uncollected taxes.
